Hello From The Road!
Hello friends,
I hope you are having a great start to fall! Hard to believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner. I am keeping busy on the GOT BACK tour, having a great time on the road with Paul McCartney and his Band of Brothers. Thank you to everyone who has come out to a show and rocked with us!
I have some exciting projects in the works and wanted to keep you updated on a few new things!
Rock The Plaza
Three years ago, I was honored to help put together a benefit show to restore the Plaza Theatre in Palm Springs. It is a really special venue! We were joined by Alice Cooper, Paul Rodgers, Orianthi, and Joshua Homme in addition to an all-star backing band. Now, you can relive the triumphant magic of that night! The show is coming out on double vinyl exclusively for Record Store Day Black Friday on the great Omnivore Recordings. Record Store Day Black Friday is on November 28 this year, so find your local record store and pick up a copy of this historic recording! Rock The Plaza will also be available on CD and digitally on December 6 as well.
Presenting Pirate Radio
Over the years, I have been a part of many different projects, all of which I’m very proud. My new Spotify playlist, Pirate Radio, puts many of these in one place: from Etta James to Paul McCartney to Kelly Clarkson to my solo material. Take a listen and let me know if any of these surprise you!
Guitar Spotlight
When I’m out on tour looking for something to do, I sometimes search “vintage guitars nearby”. This led me to Lawman Guitars in Des Moines, Iowa. Michael Lawman told me about a few cool things that he had stashed away and one of them was an oddball 60’s custom color Mosrite Guitar, Ventures model, made popular by the surf and hotrod custom car culture of the early 60’s.
It looks like it was painted in a custom car auto body garage in the mid 60’s because it probably was! Some guitar makers use auto body paints on custom orders back in the day. In this case, the order was for a two tone, red and gold sparkle finish, with Gibson parts, and custom gold hardware! This guitar should not exist, but here it is!
