Up and Coming Tour with Paul McCartney, Leg 1

I want to tell you all what a blast our last leg of the “Up and Coming Tour” has been. Opening in Phoenix was HOT!! The crowd was crazy there with anticipation over the setlist, as they were the first to know! My sister Caroline and a few great friends were there to visit me before we played, too.

The Hollywood Bowl shows were completely off the hook… especially the 31st! There are times when everything just comes together at the same time.. the crowd, the singer, the band, the sound and lights and PYRO!!
An astounding phenomena to be a part of…
There is a circle of energy between the audience and the singer, the singer and the band -all of us together- with the crowd giving it all back to us, ‘round and ‘round it goes.. An astounding phenomena to be a part of, for sure. If only we could bottle that energy, maybe we could stop “drill, baby, drilling”! #$%^%$ !!
It was a great to have my family there with me as well.. My mom, 2 aunts, 2 sisters and their friends having the time of their lives. So, there was Aunt Lee at 91 years old, rockin’ out and partying like a rockstar!

Apparently some in the crowd were getting annoyed at a long haired dude singing along with us at the top of his lungs to every song and another headbanging guy in the box next to him, air drumming like a Muppet.. Just as the annoyed people were about to say something to the upstarts, they realized it was Steven Tyler singing along and Dave Grohl on “air drums” and goin NUTS, Hahahaha! As the old saying goes, “No one is Beatle proof”.
Next stop, Miami to play the Sunlife Stadium
Next stop, Miami to play the Sunlife Stadium {Joe Robbie Stadium, ahemm cough} and the giant crowd again made us feel amazing..There was a scuffle in the first row as pushy guys with cameras were squishing sweet lil ticket holders ‘til the cops came to toss ‘em out… ah, well it’s only rock and roll.
BTW - for those who didn’t know- I had just done a halftime Tribute To Les Paul there a few months earlier, watch the video here:
The show in Puerto Rico was off the RACK~ wow, they sure know how to make some noise down there.. Why is it that all the Latin blooded audience, without fail, sing along better than any other, even when English is not their first language?? Riddle me that, Batman!!
To the people with t-shirts and signs and smiles…
So thank you all for coming and making so much noise! To the people with t-shirts and signs and smiles and your shiny happy faces and freezing cold fingers, you da best! We were freezing too.
So… in closing… ROCK, Shout, Sing and airdrum practice for our next shows, ok? And please stay tuned for upcoming news on my new album “This Way Up”. More release information and news about me next single coming soon!
Enjoy a few pictures and fantabulous memories from the tour!!
Love to you all,
Brian
PS. I want to give a BIG shout out and very special thanks to Ronna, Lynn, Fiona and Sharon for all of your help with the T-shirts, CDs, autographs and everything you do.. I LUV ya!!
